Piercing Aftercare


Always wash your hands with an antibacterial soap or antimicrobial soap before handling fresh piercing. Refrain from twisting or playing with a fresh piercing.

Clean three times a day. After washing, if you experience any pain, apply piercing care solution such as bactine for the 8 weeks.

Avoid fresh water such as lakes, rivers, ponds, streams, or jacuzzis.

Do not apply cosmetics on or around fresh piercings and avoid contamination from other person(s) for eight weeks. If needed, apply a sterile bandage to avoid irritation.

For oral piercings, avoid brown liquors/beers, hot/spicy foods, and heavily seasoned foods. Avoid long pastas due to choking hazards. Refrain from biting or playing with fresh piercings.

If you are able to, ensure that you are taking 200mg of ibuprofen, twice a day for the first week of having your piercing. This is not optional, it is a major factor in ensuring that you do not swell out of your jewelry and possibly have to remove your piercing.

If you notice any signs of an allergic reaction or infection you should contact a health care practitioner and report any sign of reaction or irritation to the Tattoo Studio (254-690-6404) and the Texas Department of Health (1-888-839-6676).

Tattoo Aftercare


For the first hour and a half, leave cling wrap over your fresh tattoo. Afterwards, for the next hour and a half, wash fresh tattoo every twenty minutes with an antibacterial or antimicrobial soap. Pat dry.

After an hour and a half of washing, apply a very thin layer of antibiotic ointment or cream, rub ointment thoroughly into your skin.

Bandage with a nonstick sterile bandage, no gauze, if needed to protect fresh tattoo from harsh clothing, harsh working environments, etc. Otherwise, let tattoo be open to fresh air. Change bandage at least three times a day for at least ten days.

Do not submerge your tattoo in any body of water for two weeks. Keep out of chlorinated water and avoid direct sunlight for two months to avoid fading your tattoo.
